On site testing and tagging of electrical appliances, both 10 Amp and 15 Amp single phase as well as three phase equipment and RCD units all over Victoria;


Whether you are an employer, parent, or in public service avoid the risk of possible injury. Faulty or damaged electrical appliances can KILL or injure in the blink of an eye. Many people are not aware of these risks.

We have state of the art equipment to provide testing for earthing continuity, insulation resistance, RCD testing, earth leakage, wiring continuity, visual fault check. Our system is fully computerized ensuring complete & accurate testing, whether it be construction tools or sensitive IT equipment.

We use the most up-to-date equipment on the market today which is the BetaPat SupaPat 3-phase package with printeck printer, which prints thermal durable and permanent synthetic tags directly on-site. These shall usually be attached to the power cord of the appliance.

Our services do it all, right down to the paperwork required, so as to provide you with a detailed electronic Asset Register, full Test Results and Test Certificates.

At Safe T tag we recognize that interruptions and downtime costs you money and therefore we have set up the following after hours testing and tagging options to suit all operators from the local tradie to larger service companies and corporate offices.



Safety Inspections




We are OH&S trained and can advise your OH&S officer and Representatives and staff what to look out for in electrical safety inspection. If requested we can supply you with a list of our recommendations to be considered for improving safety at your workplace.

Your test results must be kept on file and be open for inspection upon request by Workcover, or by your OH&S Representative in the workplace. We keep a copy of all tests done at our head office, and are able to supply you with a PDF file of tests done in the event of you misplacing your records, at no charge. Inspection and testing intervals can range from 3, 6, 12 up to 5 years testing schedules. We shall also notify you when your next tests are to be done.


Repairs



Failed items must be withdrawn from service immediately and have a label attached to it warning against further use and sent for repair, or safely disposed of. Repairs of some equipment can be made on site to minimize down-time without having to call in a separate contractor.

Some items such as computer IEC leads can be replaced on site for a reasonable cost. Extension leads can be repaired or replaced. Power-boards with or without RCD and Surge Protections can be supplied at competitive rates and any failed items dishwasher, stove, or any appliance that fails can usually be fixed on site and tagged safe.

Light fittings can also be repaired or replaced. For example, mercury vapor lamps or fluorescent lamps can be changed with the correct type for your situation or simply replaced when lamp-life has expired.


Asset Registers



We are able to provide you with electronic test results individually numbered with description of item that has been tested and can be used as an Asset Register of all your electrical items on the premises and can be Nationally data based to locate specific items that your interstate branches may have on hand that can be transferred to another location. Saving you dollars in not having to employ someone to put serial numbers on your electrical items, and, saving you in the time and cost of buying another appliance that you already have.

We can also tag your unwanted items if you are giving them away to staff or to charity, protecting the receivers from faulty equipment and protecting you from prosecution. The OCEI (Office of Chief Electrical Inspector) has initiated a program to ensure that all relevant suppliers of second-hand electrical equipment sold to the general public are required to ensure that these items are tested and appropriately labeled.

You will notice that Charity shops and most Op Shops no longer sell second-hand electrical equipment now that awareness has been made of the risks involved. If required we are also able to dispose of unwanted items in a safe manner.
